THE PRODUCT

Our Reishi tincture is produced using carefully cultivated fruiting bodies and a traditional dual extraction process. Sometimes called the mushroom of immortality in traditional Chinese medicine, Reishi is one of the most revered fungi in the world, associated with calm, restoration and long-term resilience.

THE TRADITION

Ganoderma lucidum

If there is one mushroom that has earned the right to be called legendary, it is Reishi. For over two thousand years it has occupied a unique position in the pharmacopoeia of East Asia, not merely as a remedy, but as a symbol. In ancient China it was called Lingzhi, meaning the mushroom of spiritual potency, or sometimes the herb of immortality. Images of Reishi appear in Chinese art stretching back millennia, woven into silk, carved into jade, painted onto palace walls. Emperors sent expeditions into the mountains to find it. Taoist monks sought it as an aid to meditation and spiritual clarity. It was not available to ordinary people. Its very rarity made it sacred.

In traditional Chinese medicine, Reishi was classified as a superior tonic, meaning a substance safe for long-term daily use that supported the whole system rather than targeting a single complaint. It was prescribed to calm the mind, support the heart, strengthen the lungs and nourish what practitioners called the three treasures: essence, energy and spirit.

In Japan, where it is known as Mannentake (the ten-thousand-year mushroom), it held an equally exalted status. Japanese practitioners used it to support longevity, immune resilience and what they described as a calm, centred quality of mind.

Reishi contains an unusually rich array of bioactive compounds including triterpenes, polysaccharides and beta-glucans. Modern research has focused particularly on its potential to support immune modulation, stress response and sleep quality. Its adaptogenic properties, its apparent ability to help the body regulate itself, have made it one of the most studied fungi in contemporary wellness science.

It is not a stimulant. What generations of practitioners observed, and what many people report today, is something subtler: a gradual steadying, a deepening of calm, a sense of being better equipped to meet whatever the day brings.

HOW TO USE

Shake well before use. Recommended daily intake: 1–2ml per day (1-2 pipettes). Dispense directly under the tongue or add to water or another cold drink.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
